The Artful Chiropractor

The art of chiropractic is something to be studied, respected, and refined on the daily. Just as any master sharpens their craft, the artful chiropractor works meticulously on making each adjustment, their best adjustment, and the next always better than the last.

It has been no secret that I have dedicated endless hours in refining my craft to deliver the best chiropractic adjustment I am capable of. While in school I created a group called the Adjusting Ninjas, which is a group purely dedicated to the art of chiropractic. To be a part of Adjusting Ninjas, one must commit to meet twice a week @ 6:05am to train the various aspects required to become an athletic and artful chiropractor with professional level adjusting skills. A typical Ninja session would consist of a 20 minute interval-type workout with integrated functional movements and foundation training, 49 breaths meditation w/ affirmations for the day, an adjusting warm-up structured from the work of MLS and Dr. Arno Burnier, and then we would finish with instruction on technique demonstrated by me or one of the other leaders. The training formula we were able to put together in Adjusting Ninjas WORKS. Students that train with us far exceed their classmates in skill, presence, focus, and most importantly, the ability to always approach the person on the table from a place of love and abundance.

a pic of some of the Ninjas I trained while in school

The reason I created Adjusting Ninjas was as a response to the atrocity of manipulations I uses to witness while in the student clinic. Patients were being practiced on, not adjusted. Upper quarter student interns had not properly trained and unfortunately it was the unbeknownst public and newly enrolled students that had to bare the punishment of their lack of skill... As a 1st quarter student in chiropractic school, I made a vow to myself that I would never be "that intern" (the majority) that continually had to have their pod doctor clean up the adjustments that they were not prepared to deliver. Due to my intensive training, I can proudly say that I was not "that intern" and entered clinic confident in my adjusting technique and that each adjustment performed in the health center honored both chiropractic and the person I was serving on the table.

As many know, the path to mastery is a life long journey that does not stop just because one finishes school. I graduated chiropractic college in September of 2013 and have continued to push the limits on becoming better and better everyday. Although at times it seems as if the demands of managing a business can be a strong deterrent from remaining grounded in the principle that fuels me, I choose to actively participate in activities that bring me back to my purpose, "Connecting the world back to their inner source of abundance via the chiropractic adjustment." And I know that only happens if I progressively get better than what I was yesterday.

For myself and whoever else wants to get on board, I am naming 2014 the year of The Artful Chiropractor (TAC). I will be documenting my process on becoming TAC and the progression of workouts I design to fulfill my needs week by week. This is a work in progress, but that's the beauty of life :)

    2. I have always thought of chiropractic services as sort of like a massage and manipulation of the physical body. Your article makes the distintinction that you can do a workout and achieve chiropractic needs. That makes having to make an appointment to get "un-kinked" a less important thing. This is mind-blowing how empowering this is to know I am more in control of loosening up my lower back.

    4. My mom just had knee surgery and is worried about the recovery process. She wants to make sure that she has a good chiropractor that can get her back up and walking in no time. I've been looking around for something, but I don't know what to look for. This helped a ton though and I feel good about finding one soon.
